Guidelines for Authors of the Journal “Perspektivnye Materialy”The editorial office of the journal "PERSPEKTIVNYE MATERIALY" requests that authors adhere to the following guidelines when submitting a manuscript.
The submission must include:
(1)
A formal referral/cover letter from the institution where the research was conducted;
(2)
Permission for publication (for authors based in the Russian Federation);
(3)
A signed license agreement (download here);
(4)
Information for each author, provided in both Russian and English: full name (surname, first name, patronymic), full name of the affiliated institution (no abbreviations), the institution’s Taxpayer Identification Number (INN), academic degree, academic rank, current position, area of specialization, e-mail address, as well as mailing address, telephone, and fax numbers. Please indicate which author will serve as the corresponding author for communication with the editorial office.
Example: Ivan Ivanovich Petrov — Baikov Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science, Russian Academy of Sciences (49 Leninsky Prospekt, Moscow, 119334, Russia; Institute's Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) 7736045483), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Leading Researcher, specialist in plasma processes in metallurgy and metal processing. E-mail: Petrov@imet.ac.ru; petrov@mail.ru, tel./fax: +7 (499) 135-4540. Please provide the same information in English!
The editorial office also requests the mobile phone number of the corresponding author.
Please provide the
ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) for each author of the article (if you do not have one, you can obtain it at https://orcid.org/).
(5)
One copy of the manuscript, the UDC (Universal Decimal Classification) code, and the following elements in both Russian and English: the full title, the authors' names, an abstract (150–250 words), keywords, figure captions, and table titles. The total length of the article (including figures and tables) must not exceed 20 A4 pages (12 pt font, 1.5 line spacing, 2.5 cm margins on all sides). The article must state a clearly defined objective and be organized into logical sections (Introduction, Experimental Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions). All abbreviations and acronyms must be defined upon their first appearance in the text (they should not be used in the title).
The abstract must summarize the essence of the work (what was done) and its results; please do not include an introduction in the abstract. The conclusions should reflect what was accomplished in the study (without repeating the abstract).
Please submit the article as a single file, with figures, tables, and references integrated into the text in the appropriate places. A list of references and information about the authors (following the provided example) must be included at the end of the article.
(6)
The electronic version of the article must be sent via email (in MS Word format).
Figures should be placed within the text of the article in the order in which they are cited. They must also be submitted as separate files in graphic formats (e.g., TIFF, JPEG) with a resolution of at least 300 dpi. In the case of graphs created by the authors, the original source files (e.g., Origin or Excel files) must also be provided. Micrographs must include a scale bar (rather than a magnification factor). If a micrograph contains labels or annotations, the original, unlabeled version of the image must also be submitted to the editorial office. Please do not add gray or colored backgrounds or grids to the illustrations. Graphs and diagrams should ideally be prepared using vector graphics software with a resolution of at least 600 dpi; line thickness should be no less than 0.5 pt. Color illustrations are not published in the print version. The total number of figures (including sub-figures — for example, micrographs labeled Fig. 4a–4d count as four separate figures) must not exceed 20. The journal does not publish photographs of experimental setups, samples, or finished products (as these are considered commercial advertising).
Mathematical formulas must be created using the MathType editor and inserted into the Word document. Please do not use Cyrillic characters in formulas (this applies to the primary notation for variables, functions, text, etc., as well as to indices or sub-indices). The same rule applies to the notation used for variables throughout the main text of the article.
The "References" section must contain information for all cited literature.
For Russian-language sources, each entry should be divided into two parts: first, the standard information is provided in Russian; then, for the second part, one of two approaches should be followed: (1) if the journal or book has an official English-language version, provide the reference to that English version; (2) if no such English version exists (i.e., the source is available only in Russian), provide the authors' surnames in the Latin alphabet, followed by a transliteration of the Russian title, with the English translation of the title in parentheses; then, provide the transliterated name of the Russian journal, followed by its English translation in parentheses, and conclude with the remaining full bibliographic details.
Examples:Reference to an article (the information is presented as a single entry assigned one number):

At the end of the reference, in both the Russian and English versions, the article’s DOI must be provided in the following format: “https://doi.org/DOI_NUMBER”.

Required information for references:
For journal articles: authors' surnames, initials, article title, journal title, year, volume, issue, and page range; for books: authors' surnames, initials, title, place of publication (city), publisher, year, and total number of pages; for conference proceedings: authors' surnames, initials, article title, conference location and date, place of publication (city), publisher, year, and page range; for patents: authors' surnames, patent title, patent number, application and publication dates, and source of publication (if applicable); for online sources: provide the actual URL where the original work can be accessed (please use such references sparingly—all references must be scientifically sound and non-promotional in nature).
References to unpublished works, conference abstracts, dissertations, and dissertation summaries (works published as manuscripts) are not permitted.
In references, please list at least three authors before using abbreviations such as "et al." (or their Russian equivalents), and do not use "/" or "//" symbols.
The journal editorial board requests that authors adhere to the following rule: self-citations should not exceed 20 % of the total number of references. Files may be archived using standard ZIP or RAR compression software. Please place all materials in a folder named after the first author. If a file exceeds 5 MB, it must be split into smaller parts before being sent via email.
All submissions undergo a anonymous peer-review process. The editorial office will send authors copies of the reviews or a reasoned notice of rejection via email. If a manuscript is returned to the authors for revision, the corrected version must be resubmitted within two months; otherwise, it will be treated as a new submission. A revised manuscript must be accompanied by a cover letter from the authors detailing the changes made and providing responses to all the reviewer’s comments.
The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editorial Board following a review of the revised manuscript, which must incorporate the reviewer’s feedback. The editorial office reserves the right to edit articles. Prior to publication, proofs will be sent to the corresponding author; no significant changes or additions to the text may be made after this stage. Once published, the author will receive a PDF copy of the article.
Manuscripts will not be returned to the authors.
